What are you thinking? How are you feeling? What’s going on in your mind? When posed with these questions some are inclined to answer with rants or cliches, some are inclined to create music or poetry, and some are inclined to bottle up their emotions. Much lesser do people reply to these questions by showing an image or doing anything visual for that matter.
I decided to open the floodgates and let my thoughts take the form of song. However, during this process, my mind was plagued with abstract images. This project, Too Deep, Displayed, illustrates my attempt at displaying the cerebral experiences I encountered in solitude as I worked through, stress, isolation, relationships, indecisiveness, and most of all, self-reflection. Through the use of self-modeling, low-key lighting, perspective, and color, I attempt to visually communicate what was going on in my mind.
